| The Old Nick Theatre, Gainsborough | ||
| This theatre started it's life far back in
Victorian times as Gainsborough's police station and courthouse, hence the
name, and the original features are still very much in evidence. The courtroom is now the auditorium, capable of seating 55. This grade 2 listed building has featured in Gainsborough ghost walks for a number of years and houses the Cell Bar, an extensive costume store and a small rehearsal room. Downstairs, the new box office replaces the original reception rooms and, still hidden from view (except on Ghost Walks and Vigils) are the original cells, some complete and still decorated with acerbic graffiti from previous residents! The Old Nick has welcomed many Paranormal Societies, with enquiries from as far afield as Bristol, which continue to suggest that their members aren't the only people occupying the building on cold nights! There has been many unexplainable events. Objects going missing and turning up somewhere else. Shadows moving around in the dark narrow corridors and a heavy atmosphere is felt in some of the downstairs rooms. Many people have fled in terror never to return! This is our opening night at the Old Nick - Lets hope this is one show we will never forget.
