  Skirrid Inn

Sixth Sense paranormal Investigation team welcome and invite you to an overnight ghost hunt at the SKIRRID INN Abergavenney…

On the 15th October 2010, the team will investigate this very active location, and would like to invite those interested to join us. The Skirrid is one of the oldest pubs in Wales dating back over 900 years.

Was this Inn used as a rallying point for local supporters of the Welsh Revolt against the rule of Henry IV, the uprising being led by Owain Glyndwr. In the early 1400s he is said to have personally rallied his troops in the cobbled courtyard before raiding nearby settlements sympathetic to the English.

Was the first floor of the inn used as a court of Law?

Did Derek Acorah – Most Haunted- correctly identify the judge who sat in judgement here ? As many as 180 prisoners were adjudged guilty of crimes serious enough to warrant the sentence of death by hanging, a sentence that was carried out at the inn itself, the last case of capital punishment purportedly taking place sometime prior to the death of Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658).

The Inn is alleged to be the home of many haunting spirits. Do you dare to join us there?

The team envisage the night beginning with a short workshop ,giving the basic skills needed to survive the night investigation. Then a walk round with the mediums. All members of the public will take a lead role in the investigation, using various equipment and recording all activity felt, seen or heard no matter what it is. You are actively encouraged to bring along recording equipment and any ideas of experiments you would like to try. 18yr and over For further details please look at our website http://www.sixthsensepi.org/events.php
