  Margam Castle

Built on the site of an ancient Iron age settlement stands the imposing presence of Margam Castle. This wonderful piece of Gothic architecture sets a scene of mystery and intrigue. The castle had in its history some amazing rebuild work and over the ten years taken to complete the building it is thought that there were several cases of experienced masons falling to their death from scaffolding the castle walls.

The Talbot family lived here until the outbreak of war in 1939. At that time the castle was bought by David Evans-Bevan, who found it difficult the take care of the vast property and the property was requisitioned and used by British and American forces during World War Two. After the war the Castle fell into disrepair and was restored by Glamorgan Council during the 1970's. The house is still staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated staff, many of whom have bore witness of some truly terrifying encounters.

One frequently encountered spirit is thought be Robert Scott a gamekeeper at the house for many years. It is thought that Scott was murdered by a poacher and his spirit still rages around the grounds today. Robert Scott has often been seen purposefully ascending the Gothic staircase leading the Castle. His presence has come forward regularly with psychic investigators, all of whom have insisted his spirit is consumed with rage over his unjust killing.

Will you hear the often reported sound of giggling children through the long corridors and dramatic rooms of the family areas. There have been reports of children in Victorian dress seen drifting in and out of doorways and mischievously moving objects.

The blacksmith is a familiar vision to many of the gamekeepers and gardening staff who maintain the vast castle grounds. At night security guards have reported running footsteps and chattering voices with no sign of any living intruder.

  Gladstone Pottery Museum
Join Richard Felix and his Paranormal Team from Derby Gaol for a fascinating night of ghost hunting in the very haunted Gladstone Pottery, Stoke on Trent.

Located in a huge Victorian industrial building the museum has the feel of a labyrinth about it. Though the Museum looks to promote its family oriented historical education, at night the building really begins to become alive.
Another frequently reported phenomena is the vision of an old man stalking the factory. The figure is thought to be the spirit of a potter who was killed at the factory.

Arguably the most active room in the Museum is the Colour room. Formerly a storage area for glazes and paints, it seems that those brave enough to rearrange the paint pots have fallen victim to a tantrum from a very particular poltergeist. Objects left in this room have been known to be hurled against the walls. Adjusted paint pots have been met with a barrage of objects; thrown be invisible hands.

The Gladstone Pottery Museum is a real step into the past during the day, but at night the past frequently steps forward to meet those brave enough to find themselves there.

  Galleries of Justice

Will you join the SSPI team to delve in to the dark and disturbing past of crime and punishment that is held within the Galleries of Justice?

Will you dare to investigate this museum of working exhibits and artefacts..? The courtrooms date back to the 1300s and the gaol dates back to at least 1449. The prisons are still there. There was also a working police station from 1905 to 1985, and the courts closed in 1991.

The museum is housed in what was once a fully functioning Victorian courtroom and claims to be "The only site in the country where you could be arrested, sentenced and executed."

This is a building that has imposed fear and awe upon its close residents for almost 700 long years. The current building has been used as a prison and court from 1780-1980 but a court has been on the site from 1375. Individuals were tried, sentenced and imprisoned here or may have been publically executed.

Within a seven floor building including man made caves and the original prison cells and yard, the hanging room, 2 court rooms, it is not surprising that it has the title of Most haunted building in Britain. Living TVs most haunted described it as one of the scariest places they had visited with the apparition of a small child presenting itself to the crew. The court room has been said to have had black figures on the balcony and groans and screams have also been heard. Is this a reply of past events?

Do you dare to investigate with us... undertake a lone vigil... will you feel the presence of one of the many spirits...
